WR Chess CEO Wadim Rosenstein announced that the African part of the Women’s Chess Tour 2026 will take place in Maputo, the capital of Mozambique. The event will run from August 21-22.
The tournament will be sponsored by companies including DHL, TotalEnergies, ExxonMobil, Sasol, Eni and others.
The WR Chess Women’s Tour 2026 will take place across 5 locations, from June 5 to the end of 2026:

Asian part: Tokyo, Japan
(June 6-7)

American part: Punta Cana, Dominican Republic
(July 1-2)

African part: Maputo, Mozambique
(August 21-22)

European part: Saint-Tropez, France
(August 25-26)

WR Chess is a chess organization and tournament organizer founded by German entrepreneur Wadim Rosenstein. The company is based in Germany and focuses on organizing elite international events and promoting chess as a social tool. WR Chess is a supporter and participant in the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Team Championship.
