The Global Chess League 2026 concluded in India on September 13. A player on the winning Ganges Grandmasters team, Stavroula Tsolakidou, was named the MVP of the tournament.
Stavroula won 5 games, drew 2, and lost 3 in the main part of the event. Tsolakidou defeated Humpy Koneru 1.5-0.5 in the final. Stavroula received a Jawa 42 Bobber motorcycle for the MVP title. The motorcycle is valued at more than $200,000.
The Tech Mahindra Global Chess League 2026 took place from September 5 to 13 in Bengaluru, India. Greek IM Stavroula Tsolakidou played in the GCL for the first time. Stavroula gained +38.0 points in Rapid and +11.8 in Blitz.
