Chess.com announced the dates and updated regulations for the Champions Chess Tour (CCT) 2026-27. The CCT will run from September 1, 2026, to May 25, 2027. The tour will combine the weekly Titled Tuesday tournaments, the Speed ​​Chess Championship, and the Chess.com Open.

The main change to the CCT is the new qualification regulations for the Esports World Cup. Previously, the winners of the Speed ​​Chess Championship and Chess.com Open received direct invitations to the EWC. Starting with CCT 2026-27, qualification for the EWC will be available only through the overall tournament standings. The top 12 players in the CCT standings will qualify for EWC 2027.

Winning the Speed ​​Chess Championship or Chess.com Open earns 150 points. Winning a Titled Tuesday earns 10 points, with points awarded to the top 10 players in each event. There will be 39 weekly Titled Tuesdays per tour.

The Champions Chess Tour is a premier online fast-chess circuit organized by Chess.com. The tour was first launched in 2020 by Play Magnus Group. Magnus Carlsen has won all 7 editions of the event.
