Russian GM“Why did I decide to play a match with Hans Niemann? The idea was to play more chess this year and regain the rating and form.
As far as I have no tournament invitations… Literally no invitations. I received an invite to Tashkent, but this is the only Round Robin I will play this year.
I’m basically looking for any opportunity to play chess.”
American GM Hans Moke Niemann and Russian GM Ian Nepomniachtchi will play a Classical exhibition match in Belgrade from May 29 to June 1. The match will feature a 60+30 time control. Niemann’s offer for the event is $100,000, where $50,000 will be donated to charity.
