Denis Lazavik commented on Abhimanyu Mishra’s statement about difficulties with financial support. Lazavik does not consider Mishra a promising player. Denis believes that Abhimanyu needed to achieve greater results to receive support. Denis spoke about it in an interview with Chess Yaroslav.

“Mishra isn’t that promising anymore. The years are passing. He’s already 17. His rating is like mine. In Classical this is complete crap, 2630. What good is that?

Serves him right. No support? You should have played better, sorry dude. Became a Grandmaster? You should have quickly reached 2700. And with your 2630 at 17, no one needs you in the modern world.

That’s my level. Come to Belarus then — they will support you here.”

American GM Abhimanyu Mishra spoke about difficulties with financial support on September 9. Mishra said that he is considering changing his chess federation. Abhimanyu compared his situation to Faustino Oro’s level of support.
