Argentina's No. 1

“I generally always rely on technology. That is, for example, I have never read chess books, nothing at all.

I was born in the era of computers. For example, Magnus and Kasparov had to read books back then, because there were no machines or engines that would suggest the best move. Everyone learned more from books.

And now… I have never read books. Of course, you can read, but with computers everything has become much simpler now, all the learning.”

12-year-old Faustino Oro is World’s No. 250 and Argentina’s No. 1 with 2560 Classical points. He became the second-youngest GM in history in May. Faustino’s title was officially approved by FIDE in August.
