Reigning World Champion Gukesh Dommaraju defeated Uzbek GM Javokhir Sindarov in round 5 of GCT Super Rapid & Blitz Poland 2026. The game ended in 52 moves.

Javokhir Sindarov blundered a Knight on move 25 and lost balance on the Evaluation Bar. After that, Sindarov made 2 inaccuracies and resigned. Gukesh played the game with 91.9 accuracy, while Javokhir’s was 88.0. Gukesh and Sindarov hold 4th and 7th place in the overall standings respectively, at the time of round 5.

Grand Chess Tour Super Rapid & Blitz Poland 2026 takes place in Warsaw from May 5 to 10. The winner of the FIDE Candidates Tournament 2026 and reigning World Champion Gukesh Dommaraju will play two Blitz games later at the event. Sindarov and Gukesh will play in the FIDE World Championship at the end of 2026.
