Turkish GM Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus and Bulgarian GM Veselin Topalov will play a classical exhibition match. The match will take place in Monaco from April 11 to 17.
The event features a 90+0 time control for the first 40 moves and 30+30 for the rest of the game. In case of a tie, the winner will be determined by tiebreaks.
Turkish GM Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus (2669) earned the Grandmaster title at the age of 12. Magnus Carlsen named Erdogmus the best player in his age group during the FIDE World Rapid Championship 2025. Bulgarian GM Veselin Topalov (2717 inactive) was the FIDE World Champion from 2005 to 2006. He was No. 1 in the world for a total of 27 months from April 2006 to January 2007 and from October 2008 to January 2010.
