WR Chess announced the launch of the WR Women’s Chess Tour in 2026. CEO of WR Chess Wadim Rosenstein noted that this initiative is inspired by the 12th Women’s World Champion, Alexandra Kosteniuk, and supported by the 13th Champion, Hou Yifan.

The tour consists of five events and runs from June 5 to the end of 2026:

• Asia: June 5-8
• The Americas: June 30 - July 3
• Africa: August 20-23
• Europe: August 24-27
• Grand Final: The end of the year

Rapid and Blitz tournaments feature 15+10 and 3+2 time controls respectively. The field combines invitation and qualification. All players receive accommodation, and travel costs are covered. The total prize fund across the tour is $200,000. The specific locations will be announced at a later stage.

WR Chess is a high-profile chess organization and tournament organizer founded by German entrepreneur Wadim Rosenstein. The company is based in Germany and focuses on organizing elite international events and promoting chess as a social tool. WR Chess is a major supporter and participant in the FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Team Championship.
