“No offense to Goa, I think everything is good with Goa - it’s just like FIDE’s problem. In Goa it could be a real gamble to go somewhere and eat, here it feels completely normal. Indian and European food are both nice - it’s not that you just survive, it’s tasty! After playing the World Cup, my standards went somewhat low. I’m enjoying everything here I have to say - very happy not to play, don’t mind playing either!”

The Tech Mahindra Global Chess League is a team event featuring squads of six top players from around the world, including both men and women with 20+0 time control. The tournament runs from December 14 to December 24 in Mumbai.
