Titled Tuesday returns to one tournament per week starting September 2, 2025, with 5+0 time control replacing 3+1 blitz format. The changes align with Esports World Cup qualification requirements, featuring $276,000 annual prize pool and Take Take Take as broadcast partner.
Titled Tuesday operated with two tournaments each week using 3+1 time control for three-and-a-half years. The September changes introduce single weekly tournament with 5+0 time control. Chess.com implements mandatory proctoring for all participants as the tournament becomes part of Champions Chess Tour qualification cycle.

GM Magnus Carlsen
Take Take Take co-founder, and top-1 player in the worldI’ve always enjoyed Titled Tuesday — it’s fast, competitive and unpredictable. Now, with the new format, prize structure and live broadcasts, it’s going to be even more exciting to play in and to follow. I’m looking forward to being part of a competition that feels like a proper league, and to facing the best players week after week.
Prize money increases 20% to $3,000 per tournament, paying six places instead of five. The annual structure includes three splits running from September 2025 through May 2026. Each split awards $30,000 with $15,500 for all players, $5,500 for women, $3,500 each for seniors and juniors, plus $2,000 for girls 20 and under.
Take Take Take brings studio production led by sports presenter Kaja Snare and analysis from GM David Howell. The broadcast partnership marks the chess app’s entry as official coverage provider for the weekly tournaments.
Titled Tuesday began in 2014 as cash prize tournament for titled players on Chess.com. The event now serves as qualification pathway into the Esports World Cup cycle, connecting weekly competition to gaming’s premier tournament structure.
