“I really want to say sorry to Nils Grandelius, I didn’t want to win that way at all…

I mean, 0.7 seconds left on the clock… I just saw that my tiebreak score was behind Aleksandar’s, so I thought I needed to try in the last game.

Of course, that wasn’t how I wanted to win. But it is what it is in this time control.”

Titled Tuesday is Chess.com’s weekly 11-round Swiss tournament for titled players, occurring every Tuesday. On March 17, Nihal Sarin was losing to Nils Grandelius in the middlegame in the final round. Sarin regained his advantage in the endgame and defeated Grandelius on time. Nihal Sarin won the event and Nils Grandelius finished in 7th place.
