Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev personally congratulated Javokhir Sindarov on his FIDE World Chess Cup 2025 victory. The President expressed his pride in the grandmaster’s achievement for the nation. In response, Sindarov thanked the president and stated:

“This is only the beginning of the successes of Uzbek chess players. God willing, we will bring the world crown to our homeland. Thank you for your support!”

President Mirziyoyev awarded Sindarov the title of “Honored Athlete of Uzbekistan” and presented him with a three-room apartment. The grandmaster was later welcomed at Tashkent airport by Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov.

Javokhir Sindarov won the FIDE World Chess Cup 2025, becoming the youngest champion in the event’s history at 19 years old. The Uzbek grandmaster defeated China’s Wei Yi in the final 15+10 rapid tie-break to claim the title and qualify for the 2026 Candidates Tournament.
