Kazakh GM Bibisara Assaubayeva commented on her win at Norway Chess 2026. Bibisara says Uzbek GM Javokhir Sindarov helped her, and reflects on future tournaments where both will play.

“This is my first experience when Sindarov helps me without playing his tournament.

It’s very pleasant for me, he helps me with openings, he supports me. Also, my coaches helped me a lot.

But for the next tournaments, everywhere I play, he will also play. So, we will just try improving and enjoying chess!”

Bibisara Assaubayeva and Javokhir Sindarov will play on different teams at the 2026 FIDE World Rapid and Blitz Team Chess Championships. The event will take place in Hong Kong from June 16 to 22.

The Norway Chess Women 2026 takes place from May 25 to June 5, at the Deichman Bjorvika public library, Oslo. Bibisara Assaubayeva scored 3 wins and 6 draws in Classic, and 3 wins in Armageddon. She won the tournament early with 16.5/27 points.
