Sarwagya Singh Kushwaha, born in 2022, became the world’s youngest FIDE rapid-rated chess player at 3 years, 7 months, and 13 days. He earned a 1572 rating on the December 2025 FIDE rapid list.
His debut came at the 24th RCC Rapid Rated Cup in September with a win over a 1542-rated opponent. Kushwaha later defeated a 1559-rated player at 2nd Shri Dadaji Dhuniwale Rapid Rating Open in October and secured crucial victories against 1542 and 1696-rated players in November tournaments.
This record follows the achievement of another three-year-old Indian, Anish Sarkar, last year.
