The 3rd day of the Grand Chess Tour 2026 Finals in the USA has concluded. Praggnanandhaa R and Fabiano Caruana advanced to the final of the event. Vincent Keymer and Wesley So will play in the match for third place.
Praggnanandhaa R defeated
Vincent Keymer with a score of 19-9. Pragg won 1/2 Classical games, 2/2 Rapid games, and 1/4 Blitz games. Keymer defeated Pragg in Blitz 3 times.
Fabiano Caruana defeated
Wesley So with a score of 18-12. Wesley did not win any game in the Semifinal. Caruana defeated Wesley 3 times in Blitz. The Final and the match for third place will start on August 25 at 5:00 PM UTC.
The Grand Chess Tour 2026 Finals takes place from August 22 to 28 at the Saint Louis Chess Club in Missouri, USA. The event features a 4-player Single Elimination system.
Matches consist of two Classical games, two Rapid games, and four Blitz games. Classical games feature a 90+30 time control for the first 40 moves and 30+30 for the rest of the game. Rapid and Blitz games feature 25+10 and 5+2 time controls respectively.
