Norway Chess announced that American GM Wesley So will participate in the 2026 event in a new location — Oslo. Wesley becomes the final player on the list of six grandmasters.

Norway Chess is an annual tournament first launched in 2013 in the city of Stavanger. On January 13 Norway Chess organizers announced that from 2026 Norway Chess events will be held in Oslo, instead of Stavanger. Wesley So has participated in Norway Chess five times and his best result was 3rd place in 2019.
