Organizers of the Paris Masters Championship announced the cancellation of the 2026 tournament. The cancellation follows an emergency decree issued by the French government and local police authorities.
Paris is currently facing an extreme weather crisis. Service Meteo-France officially placed the Paris region under a Red Heatwave Alert, the highest level of weather warning. Outdoor temperature during the day reaches 40 °C, and nighttime temperatures hover between 21 °C and 25 °C. Authorities banned all physical and sporting competitions in the department of Paris from July 11 to July 14.
The Paris Masters Championship is an annual Classical tournament held since 1925. The 2026 edition of the event was scheduled to take place from July 11 to July 17.
