Magnus Carlsen will participate in the TePe Sigeman & Co Chess Tournament 2026 in Malmo, Sweden, running from May 1 to 7.

The event features a 90+30 time control for the first 40 moves and 30+30 for the rest of the game over one Round-Robin between 8 players. In case of ties for first place, winner will be determined by Tiebreaks.

This tournament follows the 2025 edition held in Malmo. Javokhir Sindarov played 8 games without a single loss to win the tournament with 4.5 points. The TePe Sigeman & Co Chess Tournament is an annual, prestigious international chess event held in known as Sweden’s strongest tournament and sponsored by dental company TePe and law firm Sigeman & Co.
