Veselin Topalov commented on the decision on disciplinary proceedings against Vladimir Kramnik from FIDE Ethics & Disciplinary Commission (EDC). Topalov finds the existence of EDC strange, and states that Kramnik has mental problems.
Veselin Topalov
Former FIDE World Champion“The very fact an ethical commission exists in FIDE is strange… As if there was a real one many FIDE officials would have been banned for many years.
In this case FIDE has made a technical mistake. Kramnik should have been examined by the medical commission of FIDE, as he clearly has mental problems.”
EDC has issued its decision on disciplinary proceedings against Vladimir Kramnik on July 3rd. EDC found Kramnik responsible for multiple violations of the FIDE Code of Ethics and the Disciplinary Code. Kramnik was found guilty of bullying and cyberbullying, violation of the right to dignity and respectful treatment, psychological abuse, false or unjustified public accusations, and other offences.
