The 9th and final day of the Tech Mahindra Global Chess League 2026 in India has concluded. Ian Nepomniachtchi’s team, Ganges Grandmasters, defeated Magnus Carlsen’s Alpine APL Pipers with a score of 3-1 in the final. Javokhir Sindarov’s FYERS American Gambits defeated Maxime Vachier-Lagrave’s CheQ Mumba Masters 4-0 in the third-place match.

Ganges Grandmasters won GCL for the first time. Ian Nepomniachtchi received the Player of the Match award in the final of the event.
