Kazakh GM Bibisara Assaubayeva commented on her games in the second round of Norway Chess 2026. Bibisara says she felt she played slowly, and notes she played poorly in the Armageddon.

Kazakh GM“I suffered in a bad position for half of the Classical game, then somehow outplayed my opponent… Then the position was minus six, absolutely winning. But I made a mistake and got caught in a perpetual check.
Then I played Armageddon idiotically… I was nervous because I had only seven minutes against ten for White. I felt like I was moving the pieces very slowly.
Thank God, I managed to create some problems and ended up winning the position.”
The Norway Chess Women 2026 takes place from May 25 to June 5, at the Deichman Bjorvika public library, Oslo. Bibisara Assaubayeva leads the tournament by 1.5 points after two rounds.
