Hikaru Nakamura
American GM, streamer“For Gukesh, this is an absolute disaster…
I believe that Gukesh is slated to play the Olympiad in September, before his World Championship match in November. But for him, this is horrible news. Gukesh is now down to No. 26 in the world. He is the 5th highest rated Indian player…
It’s a complete disaster for Gukesh. Who knows what he’ll do to fix these issues before the match. But it’s definitely not what he’s hoping for.”
The Norway Chess 2026 took place from May 25 to June 5, at the Deichman Bjorvika public library, Oslo. Gukesh Dommaraju finished last with 8/30 points. Gukesh’s rating dropped by 14.8 points to 2717.2.
