Wadim Rosenstein with Tunde Onakoya announced plans to hold a four-day chess marathon in Lima, Peru. The entrepreneurs stated that one of the goals of this event is to set a world record for the longest chess marathon.
The marathon is scheduled from June 25 to June 28 during the international forum World Mining Congress. Wadim Rosenstein notes that they plan to invite elite chess players from all over the world. The organizers opened venue proposals for the event on March 2.

Wadim Rosenstein is a German entrepreneur, most widely recognized as a prominent chess organizer and patron. Tunde Onakoya is a Nigerian chess player and coach, who holds the Guinness World Record for the longest marathon chess game — 64 hours. Onakoya set his record in Times Square, New York City, from April 17 to April 20, 2025.
