The FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Championships 2025 will be held in Doha, Qatar from the 25th to the 30th of December with a €1,000,000 prize pool. The Open and Women’s tournaments will feature rapid and blitz formats with 13 and 11 rounds for rapid, plus a blitz knockout stage for the top four.

The FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Championships 2024, took place in New-York, USA. The Open titles were won by Volodar Murzin (Rapid) and Magnus Carlsen with Ian Nepomniachtchi (Blitz). This tournament saw the first-ever Title split, initiated by Magnus and Ian by mutual agreement
