The FIDE World Cup 2025 concluded, awarding Javokhir Sindarov, Wei Yi, and Andrey Esipenko qualification for the FIDE Candidates Tournament 2026. Sindarov won the event and a $120,000 prize, while runner-up Wei Yi earned $85,000. Andrey Esipenko secured the final Candidates spot by winning the third-place match, receiving a $60,000 prize. Nodirbek Yakubboev finished in fourth place and was awarded $50,000.

The top three finishers will now prepare for the FIDE Candidates Tournament 2026, an eight-player event to determine the challenger for the FIDE World Chess Championship 2026. The tournament will take place at the Cap St Georges Hotel and Resort in Pegeia, Cyprus, between 28 March and 16 April 2026.
