Ever since 2019, when we joined forces with the then newly-elected FIDE leadership, we felt that our support goes for a good cause. We intend to keep supporting top-level events both on the Isle of Man in 2027 and also the FIDE Candidates 2028

So many great players - not only the usual suspects from the top-10, but ambitious and very deserving squad who rarely get a chance otherwise… Gukesh, Sindarov, Nodirbek, Vincent, Pragg, Hans - you name it.

The Isle of Man hosted the inaugural Grand Swiss in 2019, where Wang Hao claimed the title on tiebreaks over Caruana, qualifying for the 2020–21 Candidates. The 2023 edition saw GM Vidit Gujrathi and GM Hikaru Nakamura qualify from the Open section, with IM Vaishali Rameshbabu winning the Women’s section.
