“It’s really nice to know that so many people in Russia support me!

There won’t be any easy opponents for me in this tournament. All the Russian players have very strong theoretical backgrounds. Every game will be an exciting challenge.

By the way, I learned a lot from the Russian school. I would recommend these three books, which I consider fundamental for any chess player from any country: Garry Kasparov’s “My Great Predecessors”, Mark Dvoretsky’s “Endgame Manual”, and Nimzowitsch’s “My System”

12-years-old Argentinian IM Faustino Oro (2516) holds all records as the youngest player to reach 2500 in Classical, Rapid, and Blitz. Oro has one month remaining to achieve his third and final GM norm and break the record for the youngest Grandmaster in history. A successful performance by Faustino at the Aeroflot Open 2026 will set this world record.
