Argentinian IM Faustino Oro (2516) and Turkish GM Yagiz Kaan Erdogmus (2669) will participate in the ChessKid Youth Championship, online event organized by ChessKid.com. The Under-13 and Under-16 categories feature a combined $15,000 prize fund. The championship will feature 24 players from 11 countries.
Both sections feature Blitz 3+1 time control in a group Round-Robin format, followed by a four-player knockout Final. In case of ties for first place, winner will be determined by Tiebreaks. The championship kick off with the Under-13 section on February 21 and 22, followed by the Under-16 section on March 7 and 8.
The ChessKid Youth Championship is a premier online Blitz chess tournament hosted by ChessKid.com, designed for top young prodigies worldwide. American GM Andy Woodward (2608) won the Under-16 section at the 2025 edition, while Canadian IM Aaron Mendez (2343) won the Under-13 section.
