The toxicology report for Daniel Naroditsky showed he had taken a mix of drugs prior to his death. These results were published by The North Carolina Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on January 20.

Mix of drugs in report includes substances such as methamphetamine and amphetamine. The report also identified compounds associated with kratom, an opioid-like substance, in Naroditsky’s system.

Daniel Naroditsky’s death was announced on October 20, 2025. A representative for the Mecklenburg County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed the tragedy to the public. Daniel Naroditsky was an American GM, a well-known commentator, streamer, educator, and a popularizer of chess among young players.
