Chess has become a part of India’s largest board games convention, Meeplecon 2026. The announcement was made by ChessBase India in January 2026.
Two blitz tournaments will be held on February 1st at the Phoenix Marketcity Mall in Mumbai. Both tournaments will feature a 5+2 time control and are open to 80 participants. The prize pool is Rs. 10,000 (~$110).
Early bird registration, available until January 28th, costs Rs. 250 (~$3), while late registration will be Rs. 500 (~$6). The first event starts at 11:00 AM IST, and the second begins at 4:00 PM IST. A ticket grants access to the entire festival.
Meeplecon is India’s largest board games festival and convention, held since 2023. It features around 150 various tabletop games, from modern strategy titles to classic family games.
