Tech Mahindra Global Chess League hosted an “Ask me anything” session with GM Praggnanandhaa R on Reddit on December 9. In the event, Reddit users posed various chess and non-chess questions to the grandmaster.

— If you could steal one skill from any GM, what would it be?

— Every chess skill from Magnus!

— Yes definitely! it helped all of us to progress faster.

— One myth you want to bust about chess players?

— Chess players are intelligent :)

— At what age did you decide to take up chess as a professional sport?

— It has always been chess from the early age, I started playing chess at the age of 3!

— What are the messages you want to give to all the youngsters playing competitive chess?

— Most important thing is to have fun with the game, enjoy playing and not to worry about results.

— How many hours a week you practice chess?

— It depends , About 6-7 hrs a day.

— Who is the funniest Indian GM?

— Mee!

Earlier this week, Praggnanandhaa won the 2025 FIDE Circuit and officially secured his place in the 2026 Candidates Tournament.
