Esports organization Virtus.pro announced the end of their cooperation with Russian GM Andrey Esipenko. Virtus.pro did not specify whether Esipenko was kicked, the contract expired, or Andrey left the team voluntarily.

Andrey Esipenko played for Virtus.pro from May 2025 to August 27, 2026. With the team, Esipenko played at the Esports World Cups 2025 and 2026, the FIDE Candidates Tournament 2026, and the FIDE World Rapid & Blitz Championships 2025. Esipenko took third place at the FIDE World Chess Cup 2025 and won the Oskemen Open Masters 2026.

Esipenko was eliminated from both Esports World Cups in the group stage. He lost to Ian Nepomniachtchi in both of his final matches. Andrey earned $105,000 for his performances at EWC.

Virtus.pro is an international gaming organization, founded in 2003. The organization is owned by Armenian investors and led by CEO Nikolai Petrossian. Virtus.pro is known for their rosters in Counter-Strike, Dota 2, PUBG Mobile, and other disciplines.
